So how’s it going? We blogged about Team New Year’s Resolutions a few weeks ago? Did you make any? We sure hope so! Have you been implementing on them and making forward progress?
Fewer than 10% of individuals who make new year’s resolutions feel they achieve them successfully. Not a great track record. So does that then mean your team is destined to fail? No, in fact, for shared goals, embraced by your team, there is inherent accountability and shared responsibility. This should lead to a higher rate of success.
If you’ve started making efforts toward your team’s resolutions and feel like you’re running into obstacles, use this as a feedback loop. Were the new year’s resolutions your team set realistic and achievable? Were they vague or were they actionable? Did you involve key members and receive buy in from the team? Did you choose too many? Re-evaluate and adjust as necessary.
Adjustment is not failure. Giving up is failure.
Schedule regular check-in opportunities to gauge progress. And be ready to celebrate when you achieve those resolutions you have in your sightlines! We’ll check back in with you to hear how things are going.
Share with us how it’s going! What has worked so far? What is proving to be a struggle?
