As a small business in a niche specialty, we start each new year with both excitement and yes, a bit of trepidation. Come on folks, even as the economy has recovered from the Great Recession, there are nights we all wake up in sweats, wondering if opportunities and business will continue to roll in. So its wonderful and energizing to see that YES, 2015 is up and running.
Last week PlayWorks Group got to produce one of our most popular corporate team building events in Atlanta for our client BI Worldwide and their client, Worldpay. FUN group of 450 people and a great corporate culture. We did our Bicycle Bash bike building program where teams not only assemble, but market and present their group in a series of competitions. Oh, and race some seriously giant tricycles. And then they donate them, in this case to the Atlanta Children’s Shelter. Great organization by the way. The representatives, Sandy and DeCarlos, were blown away by the participants enthusiasm and generosity.
Here was the feedback we got later that day from our client: “Thanks Meredith! It went VERY well and they really had fun getting into their “marketing presentations”. 🙂 So glad that they could help such a worthy cause. You have been great to work with, so it is good to know you do things outside of Atlanta.”
Later in the week we did our Snack Attack team building event where teams compete for materials to put together healthy snack packs for nutritionally insecure kids to take home over weekends when meals are potentially unpredictable. Rewarding, wild and crazy, competitive team building fun!
We also got to visit face to face with a few of our local DMC clients and everyone was optimistic about 2015 and the volume of corporate events we would all be seeing. That’s what you want to hear in our industry, that business is growing and that the world is realizing that face to face meetings matter!
We were in Napa, California last night doing our charity putt-putt event, Tee Time. Can’t wait to show you pictures!
How is your 2015 looking so far?
